Inspired by Henri Matisse’s groundbreaking 1905 painting Femme au chapeau (Woman with a Hat), the Monteverde USA® MP1 Fine Art Series Woman with a Hat Numbered Edition transforms Monteverde’s first piston-fill fountain pen into a functional work of art.

Each individually numbered pen captures the painting’s bold colors, expressive contrasts and energetic character through an advanced multi-stage printing process reproduced across a stainless-steel cap. A coordinating lacquered aluminum blind cap completes the design, while the transparent resin body and grip provide a clear view of the generous 2 ml ink reservoir and Monteverde’s innovative Lock-It™ piston filling system.

Writing performance is delivered by a German-made #6 JoWo fountain pen nib, available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub and Omniflex. A plasma-treated feed is designed to reduce skipping and blotting while supporting smooth, consistent ink flow.

This special set includes the MP1 Woman with a Hat fountain pen and a coordinating 15 ml bottle of pink fountain pen ink, presented in a luxury paper box.

Distinctive Design and Build

This edition features a fully color-matched anodized finish across the cap, piston knob, and internal piston, all in the rich Mocha Mousse hue. The pen’s standout feature is its one-piece transparent barrel and grip section, enhancing both durability and writing comfort. This seamless construction not only offers a sleek appearance but also ensures a secure, balanced hold for extended writing sessions. (Note: The front section is not designed to be unscrewed.)





The high-grade anodized aluminum metal cap adds durability and corrosion resistance while preserving its refined appearance over time. At the rear, a blind cap houses the advanced lock-in piston mechanism, preventing ink spills and accidental twisting for a reliable and mess-free filling experience.

At the heart of the MP1 is a German-made JoWo #6 nib, renowned for its smooth and precise writing performance. Available in six sizes—Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub, and Omniflex—it adapts effortlessly to a variety of writing styles. The nib is complemented by a technology advanced plasma-treated feed system that delivers consistent ink flow with no skipping or blotting.





Eco-Friendly Lock-It Piston Filling System

The built-in Lock-It piston mechanism enables effortless, eco-conscious refilling directly from an ink bottle. The 2 ml polycarbonate ink reservoir offers a generous capacity, ideal for long writing sessions without frequent refills.

Proudly assembled in California, USA, the MP1 Mocha Mousse edition is available as a single pen or in a gift set that include either a 15 ml bottle of brown ink or in a gift set with a stylish cylindrical MP1 pen holder.
